Illustration of a sea dragon rising out of the ocean

This month’s creative prompt:

From movies to poems to paintings, writers and artists throughout the centuries have been captivated by mythological stories and characters. Take any character or event from mythology and use that as a jumping off point to write a poem or story. How you interpret “mythology” is up to you. You can retell a traditional tale, write a new story featuring classical characters, gods or goddesses, animals, or natural elements—or invent a myth or magical creature of your own.

Submissions are now open for Issue 6. When you’re done, consider submitting your work to Zinc’s World Mythology Contest!
